Shah Rukh Khan to have shoulder surgery
Actor Shah Rukh Khan underwent a surgery at a Mumbai hospital on Tuesday.
The actor who had been complaining of pain for some time decided to get the surgery in Mumbai instead of his earlier plan of London.
A source close to the actor said, "SRK had suffered an injury during the shooting of Ra One. Doctors had suggested surgery but he has been delaying because of his tight shooting schedule. But the pain was getting unbearable forcing him to go under the knife.''
Khan suffered a tear in the rotor-cuff muscles of the shoulder. These muscles help in rotation and movement of the shoulder. "Khan is doing well,'' said orthopaedic surgeon Sanjeev Desai who operated on the actor.
In a 90-minute surgery, the doctors fixed the tear on his right shoulder using minimally invasive surgery. The actor had a similar tear in his left shoulder in 2009.
Dr Desai said Khan's arm will remain in sling for four to six weeks. He will then have to exercises for a few months,'' added the doctor.
An industry source said, "Shah Rukh did plan to go to London for the surgery but his busy shooting schedule forced him to cancel it. He wants to get over with the surgery so that he can concentrate on the post production of Chennai Express which he plans to release of Eid.''
